Did w169 network adapter work with Vista? Just a final thought. Most likely, applications updates have to be performed to correct this situation. I find that with Vista and the Ee dongle similar the Autoplay for "Software and Games" must be set to "Run or install" in Vista or you have to boot the laptop with the dongle in place.
